Greenland, Iceland; a Roman galley, a sixteenth and a seventeenth century three masted ship on the high sea, sailing west, a compass (C); a cherub head blowing a south west wind (L) Below, a tablet supported by oyster shells and surmounted by a globe and dolphins. Legend: "THE BLUE WATER MEDAL OF THE CRUISING CLUB OF AMERICA". Exergue: "AWARDED TO THE BRITISH YACHTSMEN WHO TOOK PART IN THE RESCUE OF THE ALLIED ARMY FROM DUNKERQUE 1940". Replica of the medal awarded to British Yachtsmen for their rescue of the Army at Dunkirk, held by the cruising club.
