Obverse: Short bust of Queen Victoria, crowned and veiled, with order (L) Legend: "VICTORIA REGINA ET IMPERATRIX" . Reverse: The Canadian flag with a maple wreath. Legend: "CANADA". Bars: "FENIAN RAID 1866". Inscription on edge: "CAPT. J.M.BRUCE, H.M.S.NIGER". Fitted with a clasp and scarlet ribbon with a central white stripe.
