Reverse: Head of King George VI crowned. Legend: "GEORGIVS VI DEI : GRA : BRITT : OMN : REX : FID : DEF." Obverse: Britannia standing in a helmet, a trident in her right and a shield in her left hand, standing in a sea-car drawn by two horses. Inscription on edge: "P/JX 778134 L.A.BARNARD, BOY, R.N." Bar: "PALESTINE 1945-48". Suspended from a clasp and white ribbon with rose-coloured edges divided by two narrow stripes of the same colour.
