Obverse: Bust of King George I (right) in a wig laureate. Legend: 'GEORGIVS D : G : MAG : BRI. FRA. ET HIB REX . F . D .' Reverse: Inscription incuse: 'Admiral Sir George Byng gave this medal [SIC] to Sean. Wm. Wright to reward him for his courage in saving the lives of two Seamen from drowning during the action with the Spaniards off the Cape of Passaro ye 31st day of July 1718'. Fitted with a loop and a piece of blue ribbon
