Liverpool Shipwreck & Humane Society General Medal 1894
Obverse: A cross pattee with a circular badge in the centre of the royal crown within sprays of laurel and oak. Legend: 'FOR BRAVERY IN SAVING LIFE 1894'. Reverse: Within an oak wreath a 'Liver' Bird with an olive branch in its beak (The crest of Liverpool). Legend: 'LIVERPOOL SHIPWRECK AND HUMANE SOCIETY 1839'. [Awarded for saving life on land]. Inscription on edge: 'TO JAMES SCOTSON FOR GALLANT SERVICE ON 17th DECEMBER 1908'. Fitted with a cusped bar and a red ribbon with two white stripes.
