Obverse: Similar to MED0546 but a different design. Legend: 'VICTORIA D : G : BRITANNIARUM REGINA. F . D .' Reverse: Within an oak wreath tied with a ribbon, a flower below. Inscription: 'PRESENTED BY THE BRITISH GOVERNMENT'. Legend: 'FOR SAVING THE LIVES OF BRITISH SUBJECTS'. Inscription on edge: 'PIERRE LOUIS CHARLES REMOND. 14 JANUARY 1886'. Fitted with a cusped bar, ribbon missing.
