A lighthouse on a rock (right). Legend: 'SUNT LACRIMAE RERUM SUNT ET SUA PRAEMIA LAUDI'. Reverse: A lifebelt inscribed: 'THE ROYAL LIFE SAVING SOCIETY'. Inscription: 'AWARDED TO CHARLES SIBLEY FOR BRAVERY IN RELIEVING CREW OF BRIG PHYLLIS 10TH JAN. 1897'. Fitted with a straight bar and dark blue ribbon.
