Salvage Medal

Obverse: Within a laurel wreath, tied with a bow. Inscription: 'PRESENTED TO F.H. EAMES FOR SALVAGE'. Reverse Inscription: 'PRESENTED TO THE CREW OF SS. CASTLEMAINE FOR SALVAGE DECR. 1893'. Fitted with a ring and red ribbon with two blue stripes, suspended from an engraved brooch pin.

SS 'Castlemaine' 1877 was wrecked at Barnard's wharf on the Wyre Channel, Morecambe bay on 14th October 1891. She was managed in 1893 by the British Equitable Assurance Co., London.
