Inscription: 'Royal Mail Str Norham Castle.', 'Presented by Sir Donald Currie K.C.M.G.M.P. to R.G. Ferries, Apprentice Ship FASCADALE, Glasgow'. Legend: 'THE CASTLE MAIL PACKETS COMPANY LTD. LONDON'. Inscription reverse: 'For gallantry at the rescue of the crew of the ship Fascadale by the R.M.S. Norham Castle, Natal 7th Feby 1895'. Fitted with an ornamental bar. Inscription: 'FOR GALLANTRY'. Hallmarked.
