Legend: 'MINISTERE DE LA MARINE ET DES COLONIES'. Inscription: 'A. G. D. SANDERS. OFFICIER DE LA MARINE ROYALE BRITANNIQUE COURAGE ET DEVOUEMENT POUR SAUVER DES MARINS FRANCAIS NAUFRAGES 1834'. Inscription on box lid; 'FRANCE. G.D. SANDERS OFFICIER DE LA MARINE ROYALE BRITANNIQUE 1834'. Fitted with a loop and ring in an octagonal box with piece of watered silk ribbon, light blue with yellow edges.
