Uniface. Within a cable border, port bow view of a liner, showing bridge, funnel and foremast; an eagle and swastika at the bow; water (L). Instituted April 1941 for crews of Merchant vessels who succeeded in bringing their ships back home or scuttled them to avoid enemy capture, who managed to get back home after their ship was sunk or who were wounded as a result of enemy action]. Fitted with a pin.
