Kleinkampfmittel War Badge
Uniface. Fretted badge consisting of a swordfish (L) with background of loosely woven rope knots like those used in making a mat. Kleinkampfmittel was a new naval branch created in autumn of 1943 and consisted of frogmen, manned torpedoes, midget submarines etc deployed in unconventional warfare. The badge was instituted 30 Nov.1944 using the emblem of the new branch as its device. The badge (or 3rd class) badge was awarded for five actions.
