Valparaiso Medal
Obverse: Within a laurel wreath and inner band of blue enamel inscribed, the arms of Valparaiso on a scroll suspended from the stock of an anchor, showing the flukes below, the whole navally crowned. Inscription on enamel: "VALPARAISO A SU VALIENTES 1879-81". Reverse: A five-pointed star (C) a smaller one on either side, surrounded by a laurel wreath. Legend: "CAMPANA CONTRA EL PERU Y BOLIVIA". Inner line: "BATTALON CIVICO DE ARTILLERIA NAVAL". Fitted with a loop and eagle with wings outspread and a blue and red watered silk ribbon.
