Obverse: A female warrior in armoured tunic, flowing skirt and cloak holding a sword in her right hand, her arms outstretched protecting a man and a woman behind her. Legend: "SECOND NICARAGUAN CAMPAIGN". Exergue: "1926-1930". Reverse: An eagle, wings folded, perched on an anchor with leaf sprays. Legend: "UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS". Inscription: "FOR SERVICES". Inscription on edge:"M.No.5464". Fitted with a ring and red ribbon with eight narrow stripes of pale blue.
