Jug

Pratt ware jug commemorating Admiral of the Fleet, John Jervis, Earl St Vincent (1735-1823) and Admiral of the Fleet, Adam Duncan (1731-1804). It is moulded in relief on the right side of the handle with a three-quarter length figure with the moulded uncoloured inscription 'LORD JARVIS'. He holds a speaking trumpet in his right hand and has a blue coat, orange cloak, brown hat and yellow breeches. There is a ship behind him on the right and a tree to the left. On the other side, a profile portrait with the moulded uncoloured inscription 'ADMIRAL DUNCAN'. The figure wears a blue coat, orange collar, and a brown and yellow hat. There are dolphins in the sea, ships to the left and right. The neck of the jug is decorated with fruiting vines in blue and green. The base has foliage decoration in green, and blue decoration on the spout. The jug is crudely painted with a green glaze.
