South Africa Campaign Medal 1834-53
Obverse: Head of Queen Victoria with a diadem, hair tied in a knot (L). Legend: "VICTORIA REGINA". Reverse: a lion crouching to drink, a bush behind. Legend: "SOUTH AFRICA". Exergue: "1853". No suspension or ribbon and fitted as a brooch with a pin fixed to the obverse. Inscribed on edge: "COMMANDER BENJN.H.BRUCE. R.N."
