British War Medal 1914-18

Engraved on the edge: '40907 PTE. A.W.VINTEN. LAN. FUS'. Ribbon missing.
Alfred William Vinten (1898-1953) was born at Poplar, the son of Alfred Joseph Vinten, sailmaker. He served as a private in the Royal Lancashire Fusiliers during the First World War. Afterwards he returned to Greenwich where he spent the rest of his life.
