Turkish Crimea Medal 1855
Sardinian type. Obverse: a field gun with a map of the Crimea upon it, a mortar, anchor,etc, and the four flags of the Allies behind. Exergue: "LA CRIMEA 1855". Reverse: The Sultan's cypher and inscription within a laurel wreath tied with a bow. Inscription: "Crimea 1271" (Arabic date). Uninscribed. Presented to Commander Charles Gerveys Grylls, RN. H.M.S. San Pariel and H.M.S. Triton. Suspended from a cupsed bar, ribbon missing. Awarded by the Turkish Government to selected officers and men.
