In the centre of the cross is a device, consisting of a rose, thistle and shamrock issuing from a sceptre, and three Imperial crowns, surrounded by a red enamel scroll inscribed in gold. Motto: "TRIA JUNCTA IN UNO". Scroll: "ICH DEIN". Suspended by a loop, and ring with a screw suspension, from a straight clasp with a crimson ribbon [not long enough to be worn round neck].
