Badge: Order of the British Empire, 3rd class (civil)
Neck badge. Silver gilt cross pattonee with blue grey enamel on reverse only . Suspended from a purple ribbon. Obverse: In the centre Britannia within a red enamelled band bearing motto "FOR GOD AND THE EMPIRE". Reverse: The Royal cypher "GRI". Fitted box of issue. Missing. This medal was awarded to Charles Augustus Oliver for services rendered during the First World War in January 1919, according to the Edinburgh Gazette dated 9th January 1919 page 171.
