Bowl

Ship bowl painted in full colour with a two masted brig under sail, flying a red ensign, within an elaborate gilded cartouche; Kronborg castle is depicted in the background. Gilded rococo-style scrolling joins this cartouche to another on the other side containing the inscription in worn gold letters: 'Capt ...Morgan...Success to the "Catherine" of London 1865'. There are scattered gold flowers inside the bowl, which has a gilded rim. 'from J...d Land Elsinore' inscribed on the base. Made for the ship clearance firm Major Wright and Co. of Elsinore for presentation to customers.
