Obverse: Bust of King Edward VII in military uniform, cloak, order and medals. Legend: 'EDWARDVS VII REX IMPERATOR'. Reverse: Britannia standing (right) in a helmet, a lion behind her, a trident in her right and a palm branch in her left hand pointing towards the rising sun. Exergue: 'AFRICA'. Bar: 'SOMALILAND 1902-4'. Uninscribed. Awarded to Lieutenant John Colin Howard Lindsay RN (1877-1954) for service in HMS 'Perseus'. On a bar with four other medals. Suspended from a clasp and yellow ribbon edged with black with two narrow green stripes.
