Crimea War Medal 1854
Obverse: Head of Queen Victoria with a diadem, hair tied in a knot (L). Legend: "VICTORIA REGINA". Below "1854". Reverse: Victory flying (R) crowning with a laurel wreath a Roman soldier standing (L) with shield and short sword. Reverse: Inscription "CRIMEA" (vertical, L) Bar: "SEBASTOPOL". Inscription on edge: "SAML. SIMMONDS. A.B." Suspended from a foliated bar, but with Indian Mutiny medal ribbon, (red and white stripes).
