Legion of Honour, 5th class
Badge: Silver star of five rays with double points with a small silver ball on each point, enamelled white, the arms connected with a green enamelled laurel and oak wreath surmounted by an Imperial Crown. Obverse: In the centre the head of Napoleon, gilt. Inscription: "NAPOLEON EMPEREUR DES FRANCAIS". Reverse: The Imperial Eagle gilt, encircled by a blue enamelled circle. Inscription: "HONNEUR ET PATRIE". Suspended from a scarlet watered silk ribbon. Awarded to Seaman Charles Augustus Wills, Captain of Afterguard, H.M.S. Agamemnon. Original card box. Received with copies of the Nomination Certificate, plus English translation and relevent extract from the Supplement to the London Gazette, Monday, August 4, 1856, bound together in a blue cloth cover.
