Reverend Henry Leete
Oval miniature in watercolour on ivory of the Revd Henry Leete, in an oval gilded window mount set in a rectangular black backing board within a partly gilded plain maple picture frame. It is one of a similarly mounted pair, the other showing Mrs Leete (MNT0106), though the images are probably themselves not a pair. The sitter is shown head and shoulders, turned to his left but looking out to the viewer. He has short brown hair over a high forhead and blue eyes, and wears black clerical dress (including bands) under a coat with wrap-around collar and lapels. Both this item and MNT0106 were bequeathed to the Museum by Arthur (or Robert) Shute Leete in October 1947, with an earlier miniature of Captain Harry Harmood (MNT0123). This suggests the Leetes were related to Harmood, although how remains to be clarified.
