Mariner's compass in binnacle. Brass gimbals and compass bowl. Paper card. Binnacle: 35 x 31.5 x 23.5 cm. Oak binnacle box with sliding panel and hinged door. Whale-oil lamp or candle provision for illumination. Card originally by T.Lorkin circa 1805-22. Decorated to 32 points with decorated N & E points.
