compass, mariner's
A mariner's compass set in gimbals in a wooden box. Balanced with wax. Graduated quadrantally and in 1/4 points. The card of this compass was replaced and is dated 1859. It is inscribed 'late Bradford, 99 Minories, London, nautical instrument maker'. This would indicate that John Omer had taken over George Bradford's business.
