Parallel rule
Parallel rule engraved ' Presented to J. Lort Stokes by Captn. R. Fitzroy 1833'. Both men were at sea at the time. Worthington was signing instruments from about 1835, after the partnership of Worthington & Allan ended, so evidence suggests that it was made after their return in 1836, perhaps to mark an event in 1833.
