Type 765
The echo sounder is made up of four parts - recorder, amplifier, power unit and flashing unit - which are marked NAV0692.1-4 and can be found via the Whole/Part toggle.
Recorder unit-26.7 x 29.9 x 42cm Dims.Houses a roll of chemically treated damp paper (not fitted) which is made to pass over the surface of a metal plate by means of an electrically controlled roller machine. Soundings are recorded by means of a revolving stylus which makes contact with the paper, and leaves a mark upon it, every time an echo is received. An on/off switch is provided, together with controls for range selection, phasing and paper speed.
Amplifier unit- 2.3 x 21.6 x 48.3cm Dims.This unit amplifies the echo sufficiently for it to be recorded.
Flashing unit-25.4 x 13.3 x 28cm Dims.This unit provided a means whereby the receiver can be re-energised in an electro-magnetic sense after long periods of disuse.
Power unit-20.3 x 13.3 x 28cm Dims. Accepts 230V A.C. supply from the mains and provides H.T. and L.T. supplies to the amplifier unit.
