Mechanical log
Brass recording log by Edward Massey, described as "New Patent Yacht Log". This log appears to be a predecessor of the Walker Harpoon Log, from which it differs only in minor respects e.g. pointed at both ends, and a cap to cover the front end of the revolving portion.
