Gilded brass. Velvet lined stand.

Inscription:"Presented to Captain F. J. McLachlan by A. McMillan & Son, Shipbuilders, Dumbarton, to commemorate the First Passage of ship "Coriolanus" from Liverpool to Calcutta in 71 Days Being Fastest on Record. Also as a souvenir of the award to Model of "Coriolanus" of Gold Medal & First Prize at the Competitive Exhibition of the Shipwright's Company on London 1877"
