Cistern barometer
Domestic cistern barometer with thermometer.
Walnut frame. The silvered scales are framed in an arched shaped head, surmounted by 3 brass balls. Hinged brass sliding index. The cistern has a screw for "Letting the Quicksilver down or screwing it up" and a piece of wood with a notch in it "to pervent the screwing of the Quicksilver up". The thermometer is 24 inches long and has the original paper scale of the Royal Society.
