Cup
Teacup, a good later copy of examples in Nelson's oak leaf service. The cup is painted in full colour and gilt with a border of oak leaves and acorns inside and out. Semicircular panels are reserved in the border containing the crests of Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805) the stern of 'SAN JOSEF' with his motto 'FAITH AND WORKS' and the chelengk. Opposite the handle is his shield of arms within the motto 'TRIA JUNCTA IN UNO' (three joined in one), a Viscount's coronet above. The handle is gilt.
