The Progress Gyroscope Top

Gyroscope top in its original red cardboard box with instructions for its use and consists of a brass gyro wheel 2" (5.1cm) dia. mounted in a chrome ring 2.5" (6.3cm) dia. which is pivoted on steel bearings.

Several different colour versions and special editions of this gyroscope were made during the lifetime of the toy. The early versions have flat cut screw adjusters. The later versions made in the 1960s have painted or plastic adjusters. The printed box design also varied several times over the toy's lifetime.
