Horary quadrant with Gunter projection
Surveyor's quadrant.
This is a horary quadrant marked with Gunter scales and a surveyors shadow square in the top third. The revolving volvelle on the back of the instrument is a planisphere and shows the constellations near Polaris, the pole star. This was probably a later addition. The plumb line and bob are missing.
Reverse has hours marked I-XII in each semicircle with a volvelle showing the celestial vault.
