Horary quadrant with Gunter projection
This is a horary quadrant marked with Gunter scales and a surveyors shadow square in the top third. It is unsigned but the tulips on the reverse were a favourite decoration of Walter Hayes, a London instrument maker in the late 17th century. The high quality of the engraving would make such an attribution likely.
Sights missing.
Form of nocturnal with revolving circumpolar constellation disk on reverse.
