Horary quadrant
This is a horary quadrant. It is unfinished and gives an unusual insight into some of the techniques involved in engraving the scales of such instruments. Half-circles, used as a guide when setting out the hour and azimuth lines, can be seen lightly marked on the brass. These would have been polished out when the instrument was complete. The reverse is blank and has therefore not been photographed. Numbers stamped.
