Horary quadrant with Gunter projection

This Horary quadrant with Gunter scales is a typical example of the cheaper type of Gunter quadrant being produced in the first half of the 18th century.
Boxwood quadrant fitted qith two brass peep-hole sights on one edge (plumb bob a geometrical square at apex, graduated 0-50-0. Equinoctial graduated 6-11,10-90.Declination scale, graduated 0-24. Meridian scale, graduated 8-1,12,10-50. Circle of months and the limb of instrument graduated 0-90. At centre of instrument are the Ecliptic Horizan line 10-30. 12 h line of winter, 12h line of summer & E-W Azimuth line decorated with 3 "rose" stamps.

Back of instrument: Inscribed with a circle of hours I-XII, I-XII at the centre of qhich is a volvelle 3.5" dia, inscribed with the celestial vault. Deted with 3 "rose" stamps and a "fluer de lys".
