Rangefinder
A rangefinder and station keeping instrument invented by Major F.Nolan Baker, Royal Artillery in 1905. Explanatory letter from Mrs Nolan Baker in box.
Scale: Brass. Not graduated.
Horizon glass: Adjustable in both planes by capsan screws.
Index glass: On spring-loaded swivel mount at apex of frame. Movement by cam fixed to end of index arm. Perpendicular adjustment by capsam screw. Index arm fitted with clamp.
Micrometer wheel: Operates on cam at pivot end of index arm.
Telescope: Length 8.9" (22.7 cm) closed.
In fitted mahogany box 10.0" x 9.0" x 5.0" (25.4 x 22.9 x 12.7 cm) containing shaded eyepice and tommy bar.
