Scale: Graduated from 1-10 cables for distance, and from 10-150 feet for height. Scale is a sliding fit to allow adjustment for height, and is protected by hinged glass panel.
Optics: Doubles-image principale, focussed by milled knob at front end of instrument.
N.B This instrument is a prototype, and has the handle fitted on the left-hand side. Later models were designed for right-hand us (See Dept.file.)- Technical (Distance Matere).
