Gyroscopic Sextant
The sextant has a casing of grey-lacquered aluminium and artificial materials, housing optical equipment, a clockwork averaging mechanism, electrical equipment, and a rubber eyecup. The instrument has two index shades in green and red.
The instrument has a scale measuring from 0° to 80° by 10 arcminutes, and a vernier measuring to 1 arcminute.
The sextant is contained in a square fitted wooden carrying box, containing a grey shade, a battery charger, two batteries, two light bulbs, and instructions for use in German. Several unidentified parts are missing. The box is marked on the outside, ‘4753’.
