Sold-Libellensextant KM 2

The sextant has a casing of grey-lacquered aluminium and artificial materials, housing optical equipment, a clockwork averaging mechanism, electrical equipment, and a rubber eyecup. The instrument has two index shades in green and red.

The scale on the sextant is measured from 0° to 80° by 30 arcminutes.

The sextant is contained in a rectangular fitted, grey-lacquered aluminium carrying case containing a reflecting flat, a battery charger, six light bulbs, one of which is broken, and a contents list in German. There is also an instruction manual ‘Beschreibung und Bedienungsvorschrift für den Sold-Libellensextanten KM 2’, published by the Oberkommando der Kriegsmarine Deutsche Seewarte in 1944.
