Chain
Surveyors chain consisting of 23 rods 1/4" thick connected by hinged joint plates. Each rod or link measures 9". The total lenghth is 17ft 3". the last rod is fitted with a plate for holes for adjustment. Each rod has a bronze boss which moves freely apparently to protect the link joints when in use.
