Dish with lid
Creamware vegetable dish, part of a creamware service belonging to Nelson's brother, the Reverend William Nelson (1747-1835), later 1st Earl Nelson. The dish is a curved segment shape with a lid and is painted with Greek key pattern borders in two shades of red with gilt rims. An Earl's coronet, Nelson's chelengk and 'SAN JOSEF' crests are painted on the lid with his motto 'FAITH AND WORKS'. There are two similar dishes in the museum's collections AAA4648-AAA4649.
