Telescope
This achromatic telescope has a tapering barrel covered in leather. There are two brass draw tubes and brass fittings that include a pivoted eyepiece cover. The objective lens cap is now missing. The maker’s name appears on the smaller draw tube as ‘Troughton & Simms, / London’, while some roughly inscribed roman numerals on hidden parts appear to be part of the manufacturing process.
