Creamware jug, transfer-printed in black. On one side, a portrait of Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805) in uniform, surrounded by laurel sprays, inscribed underneath 'LORD NELSON'. On the other side, a bow view of a warship under sail, wearing an ensign and flying a jack and pennants. Below the ship the words 'Success to the wooden walls of old England'.
