Jug
Earthenware jug, transfer-printed in blue. On one side a portrait of Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805) inscribed 'ENGLAND EXPECTS EVERY MAN TO DO HIS DUTY'. On the other side is a naval battle; 'VICTORY' is inscribed above. There is an inscription under the lip below a naval trophy 'ADMIRAL LORD VISCOUNT NELSON'. Scrolling foliage forms an overall background and a band of similar foliage runs around the neck with trophies of arms. There is a band of laurel inside the rim and the handle is decorated with transfers.
