Jan Wellem; Hunting vessel; Whaling factory ship

Scale: Unknown. A model of the Jan Wellem made entirely from die-cast metal and painted. The hull is painted a khaki green with a red stripe at the bow waterline and the decks are painted cream. The single deck has a number of cast and painted fittings and details including a double derrick that pivots, a derrick mast with two booms and what appears to be the remains of a whale. The superstructure is positioned amidships and has an open promenade on the port side and is fully enclosed on the starboard side. Superstructure fittings include two ventilators, a single funnel painted mustard yellow and four boats with brown covers. The aft deck has a sloping chute that exits through a large aperture in the stern. There are a further two derricks and two lifeboats at the stern.
