Towey (1814)?

No scale given, but probably 1:48. A plan showing the body, inboard profile and longitudinal half-breadth of a Sixth Rate sloop of the Conway class.

This plan carries a late 20th Century annotation in ink, and a possibly older one in pencil. The modern annotation identifies the ship represented as Fowey. This appears to be incorrect, as the dimensions closely match those of the Conway class, which included no vessel called Fowey. Lyon has suggested that Fowey was a clerical error for Towey, which was a member of the Conway class. There is no contemporary vessel name on the plan, and thus no real evidence that the vessel depicted is Towey.

The annotation in pencil states that the ship was built by 'B[althazar?] Adams at Buckler's Hard'. The date of this text is unknown, but if correct it would confirm the identity of the vessel depicted as the Towey, as she was the only one of the class constructed at Buckler's Hard. Again, there is no further evidence to corroborate this.
