Vigilant (1774)?
Scale 1:48. A plan showing the body, sheer lines with outboard detail and longitudinal half-breadth of an unnamed 64 gun Third Rate of the Intrepid/Magnanime class (1765). The plan has been signed by John Williams [Surveyor of the Navy from 1765 - 1784], which suggests it may have been drawn at the Navy Office.
A late 20th Century note on the plan suggests the drawing may relate to the Vigilant (1774), the only member of that class to be built by Adams at Buckler's Hard. However, there is no evidence for this assumption and it seems to be based on the fact that most of the plans in the Longstaff Collection pertain to vessels constructed by Adams.
